What inspired you to start playing Golf and from what age did you start playing?

As a young boy in the school holidays, I’d often tag along to dads ‘work trips’ many of which were at golf clubs. I’d hit balls till I got blisters as it was the only chance I had before cricket, rugby, soccer and athletics started up again during the school term. It wasn’t till a little later in life when I got my first handicap at the age of 17.

What is your Ga Handicap?

Scratch

Why did you choose to become a Member of Avondale Golf Club?

There were a few factors. Avondale was recommended by Tegan Purcell (former golf ops). I also already knew a few people at the club. However, the biggest reason was how impressed I was with the hospitality and vitality of the members. That’s what makes Avondale special.

Who is your favourite Tour Player and why?

Adam Scott. The way he holds himself, his ability to compete week in week out at an older age is a testament to his character and skill as a golfer.

What are your golfing ambitions?

I often find these questions awkward as I feel like I’m either underselling or overselling myself. Ultimately though my golfing ambition is to realise my full potential as a golfer, to leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of what the very best version of my game looks like. How far that gets me only time will tell. That could look like major championships and world number 1. It could also look like a solid +2 handicap.
