2021 Metropolitan Major Pennant

Round Six – Sunday, 7 March 

Congratulations to the Men’s Major Pennant Team who had an impressive 6.5 – 0.5 win over Long Reef at home today. Well done to Chris Fan, Jye Pickin, Will Bayliss, Bryce Pickin, Will Moody and Callum Sharp who all recorded wins for Avondale, and to Craig McWilliams who squared his match. The Women’s Major Pennant Team hosted Concord at home today and unfortunately went down 4-1. Well done to Robyn Keen who recorded a 1 up win. Click here to view the results. 

Round Five – Sunday, 28 January

Congratulations to the Men’s team who recorded a 4.5 – 2.5 win over Long Reef at Long Reef Golf Club today. Well done to Jye Pickin, Chris Fan, Bryce Pickin, and Will Moody who all recorded wins for Avondale, and to Will Bayliss who squared his match. The full results can be viewed by clicking here

The Women’s team unfortunately had a 4-1 loss against last year’s finalists Concord at Concord today. Well done to Grace Kim who won her match 6&5. Click here to view the results sheet. 

Next week Avondale plays host to both Long Reef and Concord. Matches will start from 7.00am and all Members are encouraged to come out and support our teams. 


Round Four – Sunday, 21 January

In round four of the Major Pennant Series, the Men’s team travelled to Moore Park while the Women’s team hosted St Michael’s at home. 

Congratulations to the Women’s team who recorded a 4-1 win over St Michaels. Well done to Kara Williams, Yeleen Son and Rebecca Yao who all recorded wins for Avondale, while June Song and Jess Meakin each halved their matches. The Men’s team travelled to Moore Park and unfortunately recorded a 4-3 loss. Well done to Bryce Pickin and Jason Jeffress who won their individual matches, and Craig McWilliams and Anthony Robson who recorded halves. Click here to view the full results. 

The Men’s team will travel to Long Reef next weekend and the Women’s team will play away at Concord. 


Round Three – Sunday, 14 February

Round three of the Major Pennant Series was held on Sunday, 14 February. The Men’s team hosted Moore Park at Avondale and the Women’s team traveled to St Michael’s Golf Cub. 

Congratulations to the Men’s Major Pennant team who had a very convincing 6-1 win over Moore Park. Congratulations to Jye Pickin, Bryce Pickin, Chris Fan, Craig McWilliams and Anthony Robson who all recorded wins for Avondale. Will Bayliss and Will Moody both halved their matches. The Women’s Team had a 3-2 loss against St Michael’s at St Michael’s. Well done to June Song who had a convincing 6&5 win while Kara Williams won 1up. To view the full results, please click here

Next Sunday the Men’s Team will travel to Moore Park and the Women’s Team will host St Michaels. 


Round Two – Sunday, 7 February

Round two of the Major Pennant Series was held on Sunday, 7 February. The Men’s team hosted NSW at Avondale while the Women’s team traveled to The Lakes. 

The Men’s team went down to a very strong NSW team 5.5 – 1.5 matches. Well done to Will Moody who secured a 4&3 win and a halved result from Bryce Pickin. To view the full results, please click here

The Women’s team had a 3-2 loss against The Lakes on their home course today. With Grace and June travelling to Adelaide for The Australian Amateur this week, Kara and Yeleen came into the starting lineup. Kara, Jess and Rebecca all had close matches finishing on the 16th, while Robyn won on the 18th and Yeleen had a very impressive 9&7 win. A great team effort from our young team. Round One – Sunday, 31 January

The first round of the Metropolitan Major Pennant Season began on Sunday, 31 January.

The Men’s team started their season against NSW Golf Club, playing at NSW in very tough conditions and unfortunately went down 5.5 – 1.5. To view the full results, please click here. The Men’s team will now host NSW at Avondale next Sunday, 7 February.
