On a beautiful autumn day, our team traveled to North Ryde Golf Club. Their course was in excellent shape, but their greens were much slower than ours.
The format is 2 ball Ambrose and two of our pairs won their match against a tough Killara team. Our third pair played better from tee to green, but had putting woes and lost.
The drive of the day went to Josh Wong who was only a few meters off the par 4 first green. The shot of the day was by Will Eldridge whose shot on the par 3 eighth hole stopped 6 feet short and he sunk the birdie putt.
Two weeks earlier, Will had been playing in a Saturday comp at Corowa Golf Club with his father. Playing from the Men’s tees, Will aced the 146 meter fourth hole which impressed the Corowa Captain.
Will is 11 years old and it was his THIRD hole in one in competition!

Round Two – Sunday, 7 March
The Avondale Cadets travelled to Oatlands last Sunday to play in the second match of the Junior League. The members of the Avondale team were Josh Wong, Bailey Lam, Chris Wilson, Jack Woodall, Will Eldridge, Natasha Murray.
Our Cadets prevailed 3 matches to 0, but the best holes of the day were recorded hours earlier when Josh’s Dad, Colin eagled the 13th and 14th holes at Avondale.
The course was in great condition and the match was played in beautiful sunshine and good spirits.
We look forward to playing at North Ryde next week.

Round 3 – Sunday, 28 February
Our Cadets played last Sunday in the year’s first Junior League event held in beautiful sunshine at Avondale.
This is a new name for the old Tyro Shield where young golfers play regular golf holes where the length of the hole is shortened.
We were represented by two sisters, Siena and Lucia Moschella, two brothers, Charlie and Harry Samter, Josh Wong and Chris Wilson.
The event was 2 ball Ambrose and Avondale went down to North Ryde 2 matches to 1.
We had many compliments on the beautiful course and the fine condition of our greens.
Next week we play at Oatlands Golf Course where 6 different Cadets will represent Avondale.
