The Avondale Amateur – 2021 Update and Request for Volunteers

Planning for the 2021 Avondale Amateur is well underway. The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic is of course a primary consideration for the Organising Committee.

We are currently planning to hold the event in the scheduled week of 18-22 January.

As part of the planning we will be developing a comprehensive Covid-19 plan that will apply to all visiting players and support people, as well as to members attending the event as volunteers and spectators. The ongoing safety of our members will be a primary focus.

Whilst the field for the event will not have the usual contingent of overseas players, we do expect elite golfers from around Australia will participate to the extent they can – subject to border and quarantine compliance. In recognition of this we have slightly increased the entry handicap limits for the event to 2 for men and 5 for women.

Volunteers
The success of the event has always been based on the fantastic contribution of our volunteers. We will be making a more formal invitation to members to volunteer over the next month. At this time we would very much appreciate members indicating whether they will be able to assist with the event so we can plan for the roles required. If you expect that you will be able to assist in January, could you please send a short email to administration@avondalegolfclub.com.au

If you have any questions about the 2021 Avondale Amateur please don’t hesitate to ask Hayley, Tim or any member of the Match Committee.
