Re-Opening of the Course

Dear Members,

The Board received advice this morning that the Office of Sport NSW had revised its position regarding the playing of golf in NSW. Having previously identified golf as a non-essential activity, they have changed that view. Golf can now be played in NSW and therefore we will be re-opening the course, from tomorrow April 2.

Following a meeting this morning, the following golf operation protocols will be implemented:

  • New timesheets will be introduced for play, starting tomorrow (April 2).
  • Timesheets for tomorrow, Friday, Saturday and Sunday will release this evening at 6.00pm.
  • Please note all previous timesheets will be void.
  • Going forward, timesheets will release three days in advance at 6.00pm.
  • Timesheets will be set for 2 players per group in seven minute intervals, in accordance with the Government’s requirements limiting numbers in external gatherings. Please note the playing rights for each day will still apply as per your membership category.
  • The first tee time of the day will be 7.00am.
  • The last time of the day will be 90 minutes before dark.
  • The Pro Shop will be open from 7am until 5pm each day and will operate with service from the front door
  • All golf will remain social play at this time.
  • Carts will be booked online as per the previous notification, with requirements that only one member per cart be maintained as per the social distancing requirements.
  • Members need to be booked on to a timesheet to attend the club. Members should arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before their scheduled round and on completion of their round make their way home as soon as practicable. There should be no gathering after play.
  • Changes to playing conditions include the following two points: Cups will be raised an inch above the hole. Once a ball touches a cup it has been deemed to be holed. Flags sticks are to be left in the hole at all times and are not to be removed.
  • The range and practice putting green will be open for warm up purposes only prior to your round and not for general practice. This restriction applies to all members at all times.
  • As planned over the last couple of days, coring will be proceeding next week with the course closed on Monday and Wednesday. The ladies’ timesheet for Tuesday will open on Saturday at 6.00pm.

Members will need to ensure all social distancing protocols are followed. Please note that police have been attending golf clubs to ensure these measures are followed. There are significant fines for individuals and companies not complying with the requirements.

Consumption of alcohol on the Club’s premises at this time is strictly prohibited. This includes the clubhouse and the course. Members bringing alcohol onto the Club’s premises will be asked to leave the Club immediately and may face sanction in accordance with our disciplinary procedures.

Members over 70 years of age and those with a chronic illness should be aware of the government’s advice regarding travel outside their homes. Each member should make their own individual decision as to whether to attend the club.

These are challenging times for us all, and your Board and management have aimed to move swiftly at each step of the way so far as this situation has evolved. We continue to appreciate the support we are receiving from members as we do our best to make the course available to you all.
