FEBRUARY BOARD UPDATE

The Board held its monthly meeting on Wednesday 26th February, 2020.

Here are some key discussion topics from the meeting and updates on other current projects:

Information Nights:  The first member information night for 2020 will be held from 7pm – 830pm on March 24th.  This session will provide a half year financial review, together with updates on other current topics around the club, including developments around water management for the course.  To assist in our planning for the evening, please register your intention to attend <here>.

The second information night for 2020 is planned for July 28th.

Interior Designer:  The Board has appointed Sally Taylor to work with us on the final fitout of the clubhouse.  Now that we have been using the clubhouse for over 18 months, we have a good sense of some of the challenges and opportunities presented by the new layout.  One of our key operational challenges is around storage, and we have a number of ideas on the list to address this.

Sally Taylor impressed us with her understanding of the environment around a members’ golf club.  We expect it will take at least a couple of months for us to scope out the plans for this work.  We anticipate presenting Sally’s draft plans to the group of members who joined us for the House Forum last year.  We have already provided Sally with the full list of suggestions from this group.

Bushfire Response:  We are continuing to scope out the planned golf day at the club, hosting members of local emergency services organisations.  We will be in touch very shortly with further details.  Any members who would like to be involved in the organisation of the day would be very welcome – please get in touch with Tim.

Augusta Women’s National Amateur:  I am delighted that I will be heading to Augusta in April to watch the US Masters.  With the added bonus of Grace Kim playing at the Augusta Women’s National Amateur event, I have amended my itinerary and will hopefully have the opportunity to watch Grace play at Augusta should she make the cut for the final round which will be played on such a wonderful stage.
